finding red bleeding spots during the 5th week of pregnency

Hi ,

I am having the red bleeding spots during the 5th week of pregnency. Day by day frequency of spotting is increasing and I visited my doctor and she gave me susten 200mg hormonal tablets.How to prevent the happening of miscarriage and is red spotting a sign of miscarriage? Please suggest me .
