For nearly a month I have had a lump on the right side of my neck right at the base. The swelling goes up and down and it is often sore. At night my throat feels so tight that I have trouble breathing. Recently my entire throat got sore and I was rubbing at it when I felt another lump right in the middle of my throat. It's hard and about the size of a pea. It gets very sore and it's not fixed. It can be moved around a little bit. I don't know what it could be and I'm really scared. I've also had the sensation of a cotton ball stuck in my throat but now I'm pretty sure it's that lump. I've also been producing a thick clear viscous mucus for the past week.

Hi, this could indicate that some of your lymph nodes are swollen. This could happen for number of reasons. Maybe you just survived some infection. Did you have any infections in your near past? If this continues i strongly suggest you schedule an ultra sound test with your doctor. Swollen lymph nodes can also be an early sign of cancer. Not that i want to scare you but you should get the ultra sound test done. Its painless and last for about 15 mins and then you can know exactly whats going on with your neck. Good luck
