Ok guys, I stand corrected on a few things. First, I actually didn't get a permanent lip color tattoo. What I had done was a transparent lip color stain. I was confused about what the cosmetic specialist actually did for my lip. There still is hope out there if someone is going to get a permanent lip color tattoo. About an hour ago, I had just gotten another lip stain, but this time it's not transparent, it has actual color. This color she had put on is a very close if not the same color as my actual lip. I hope to see what happens here. I'll repost in about a week or so and let everyone know how I'm doing. :-)

Hey Aggelos Mj-
I've tried the treatment your talking about at that website for fordyce spots. This cream did absolutely nothing. It is total BS. They say anyone will get a full refund if anyone was ever disappointed. However, they never responded to my emails, and I DID NOT get my money back. I wasted my money, don't waste yours. It is a scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I feel your disappointment. I was so excited when I found that website. Several other people have found this website and had gotten 0 results with the treatment. Whoever made up that BS scam website should go to hell. I realized after I was scammed, that anybody will do anything to get your money. Glad to see you did your research before you gave your money away though!! :)

1 wish!!!!
the tattoo thing could actually work and dude im really hopefully for it too.

I dont know if you remember or not but i went ahead and just cut a little chuck of sink of my lip where the spots were.
and i have to said it did get rid of them....BUTTTT now i have a scar that is even more noticeable.
I really regret doing that. but hey man. you live and learn.
It has been about about a year since i did that and the spots haven't returned.
but like i said i have a scar.
Lately ive been using "lipliner" that matches the color of my lips and man i gotta tell yo that helps ALOT it makes it alot less noticeable.
the only thing it has a head time completely covering is the scar.

For anyone that needs to cover this up... i HIGHLY recommend getting a good lipliner and useing it when your going into well lite places. it really does help.

And kobe. I KNOW they come from sun. there isnt a doubt in my mind. My started when i was tanning. and they kept getting worse the more i went. since i stopped going. they stopped growing.

SORRY ABOUT ALL THE TYPOS

Hey everyone, so the actual lip color stain I had done vs the lip color stain with transparent color didn't seem to help much. If anything it was just a waste of time. Sure it looks good for a week or so, but then the spots come back. Maybe the spots are not as noticeable, but when you see the spots come back, even if they aren't as bad, you just get frustrated that there isn't 100% results. As far as the sun, I totally agree being careful with exposure . I'm not saying avoid the sun, because we all need it, just don't go tanning or lay out in the sun all day. Winter is around the corner anyways, in my opinion, people who are really tan during the winter months stand out, and not in a good way. Anyways, I have been doing a few things differently and I have noticed the spots are smaller and disappearing. I take cold showers now, so it doesn't dry out my skin. It might sound crazy, but I did a lot of research on it and colder showers are better for your skin, along with other reasons, such as increase in testosterone and body temp regulation, etc. I also started licking my lips, as I see every single person do on this earth. My lips haven't felt dry or anything and I don't cover them with chapstick like I used to when my lips didn't feel 100% moisturized, I'll just lick them instead. These things are just minor changes that I'm comfortable with in making permanent changes to. I'll win this. On a side note, I have had these spots for a long time now, but really people, is it that of a big deal anyways? I used to obsess over this, but I have a life that I need to get back to. I have read from this forum and have heard from others, and have had people tell me face to face, that people in general don't care about these spots on your lips. I'm more comfortable with myself than I have been in a while. You just have to "own your body". Remember, there are people in this world who don't have arms or legs, who make it through the day!

I've got Co2 done. One week of crusty lips and one week clear... and then slowly reappear. Derm said to wait a month or so but I'd likely need more treatment. It's expensive, but def goes deeper than PDT/ACV (I've done both). I am trying to network with other folks who have fordyce to share treatments/physicians - please send me a PM with an email I can reach you at!

How are we supposed to ignore this? We want our lips to look normal. Do I really have to go through noticing the weird looks and facial cringes that I get from others when they've noticed these things on my lips? I just want a sense of normalcy.

I'm fine having these spots, as I think pretty much everyone has at least one or two, sometimes people have more. However though I know this and been reassured by a health professional they are normal, I am terrified that they are contagious. Can anyone please please confirm that they do not spread from person to person, for example, has anyone been in a relationship before and the person you were wit DID NOT get more spots or spots (if they had some anyway). Thank you.

Haddster, do you still believe these spots are contagious? Have they affected your new girlfriend? I'm terrified of spreading these spots, on me the are on the under side of my upper lip, will they spread and cover my whole lip one day? Can I ever kiss anyone?

I don't know, but I am narrowing on the cause little by little. I haven't seen her in a month or so (we were "dating") but she didn't say anything or have anything after 4+ months.
I am on to something I think though - I'll update after some more labwork - I suspect the fordyce spots (in my case) are a symptom of something else going on. I've touch based with a few others from here and I feel as though we're trying to fit different issues under the same umbrella thread - Again, I invite you to send me an email I can reach you at via DM (create a PROFILE, guest posts makes it hard to get in touch!)

What do you mean by narrowing the cause?? Is this based on your labwork, and if so what labwokr have you been doing? How could the same condition be caused by different things? I had thought maybe a strain of HPV causes the growth of sebaceous glands but I don't know if that's possible. Or that they are a tiny form of warts. But warts aren't symmetrical. If you do enough research you find that many medical papers explain that sebaceous glands in the lip are actually normal and shouldn't be considered ectopic.
