Hello 14fx
If your doctor said that the head of the your penis being attached to your foreskin could cause you problems later in life the best thing for you would be to go back to your doctor.
Since you are at the age where you are growing and developing it would be in your best interest to have your doctor examine you to determine what needs to be done.
The opinion you get from your doctor will be based on examining you and what is best for you and since there is a chance that it could cause you problems I would strongly recommend going to your doctor as soon as possible.
Online you will get different opinions on what should be done but a professional opinion based on examining you and what is best for you is the safest way to go talk to your parents and get them to make an appointment to see your doctor.
Where is it attached? That could be your frenulum but only you can tell. I wouldn't be in a hurry to cut off something as valuable as my whole foreskin (circumcision). Doctors often seem to be looking for the easiest and/or quickest solution and many think circumcision is a beneficial thing, especially if it's not THEIR foreskin or if they've already lost theirs and want to inflict the same on you.
Hi 14fx
As in my first reply to your post I am encouraging you to see your doctor.
An informed decision from a medical professional will be much more beneficial to you and your doctor’s opinion will be based on what is best for your wellbeing.
You and your parents will have the opportunity to ask your doctor any question you are concerned about.
I would tend to think that since your parents were told when you were a baby there may be problems later on in life that your doctor was in no rush to circumcise you.
Most likely it was not done when you were a baby in order to see what the problem is like when you were older and then the decision would be made to determine if you needed to be circumcised or not.
Your doctor could very well recommend you see a specialist and if you and your parents don’t agree with your doctor you can always get a second opinion from a different doctor.
Seeing your doctor does not necessarily mean you will be circumcised but if it is recommended that you need it done. Standard question like why should it be done, how will being circumcised affect me and what will happen if I choose not to have it done and are there any risks if I don’t have done are all questions that need to be answered along with many more.
Talk it over with your parents and see your doctor and at least get an opinion based on your particular problem. The doctor could very well say, now that you have grown there is no need to have anything done and there is the possibility that circumcision is recommended.
At least seeing your doctor will provide you and your parents the opportunity to make an informed decision based on information from a medical professional, if it is determined that something needs to be done.
