Okay, so I'm 22 and I've been going through a hell of a battle with my frenulum issue. I tore my banjo way back when, probably like 4 months ago? Me being the stupid turned on id**t who can't keep his penis in his pants continued to have sex with his girlfriend, with no protection. I noticed when I wanted to fully go in is when it hurt most so I would just hold my foreskin forward and go half way in most of the time. After a while I really started to miss going fully in there so I decided to finally attempt to give it a full times rest. It looks pretty good, as I can fully retract my foreskin flaccid and when I get an erection I can fully retract as well, but when I looked at the frenulum it looked quite tight. But sometimes when I stretch too far, this really small and minor cut tends to keep coming back right in the middle of my frenulum. I usually put some neosporin on it and it usually goes away within a day or 2. But it continues to come back, not to mention it's a horizontal cut every time. I don't know whether I just need a stitch there, a stronger type of healing ointment or if frenuloplasty will completely cure the problem. I used to have a really good sex life and I miss it and of course want it back. ANY advice or knowledge would be highly appreciated. Thanks

Okay, Men!!! This is MY experience!!!

At 33, I am not circumcised! Don't need it. Don't want it. I was taught by mom and dad proper hygiene and cleanliness. I have a normal foreskin. Not too much that it overhangs like a turkeys gobbler, or too short that the glans peeks out. My problem was that during a few episodes of my sex life, my frenulum was either too sore from being pulled upon or it had a couple of tears from friction. A bit painful and somewhat bloody. So I went to my great urologist and explained to him my experiences. He asked if I wished to be circumcised. The full removal of my foreskin that covers my lovely glans. NEVER!!! So then he went to option number 2. Frenuloplasty!! At first when he explained it I freaked and worried. Hey! It's my penis we're talking about. So I then put thought into it and I figured "YEY!! At list I wont go through any pain. WOOHOO". So I waited for 1 month anxiously and a tad nervous. It finally happened on the 15Th of April. Last thursday.

There was absolutely no pain. While my lower half of my body was numb from the spinal tap, I couldn't feel a thing. The doctor explained post op how he would cut and fix the problem. I asked a main concern. "How much sensitivity would I lose?" He said he would not cut too deep to avoid damaging any nerves. The procedure took 10 minutes. What took long was regaining feeling from the waist down. Good thing that as soon as he finished the frenuloplasty he immediately injected a penile block. Which means he gave me a shot right on my penis to keep in numb a bit longer too avoid any pain.
When I was getting dressed to be discharged, I peeked at my penis. I only have what looks to be a black line from the tip of my penis at the opening of the urethra, where my frenulum began, down to the rest of the foreskin. He did it with a laser. So it's a bit burned. That's why the row of black specs. It gave me about one full inch of range of movement. My foreskin has so much movement that I was able to pull it all the way back like never before. PAINLESS!!!!!!!

Today is saturday, two days later and I have only taken one dose of painkillers when I was about to be discharged from the pre op room on thursday. That night, I slept facing down and in the nude. My penis was up against my mattress. PAINLESS!!! I woke up and no pain. I was worried that if an erection happened my skin would stretch and hurt. NOT ONE BIT!! I have had several erections and PAINLESS!!!! I think my urologist did such a great job that that's why I have not experienced any discomfort or pain at any level. All I have to do is take normal showers and let the soapy water run over my penis. No rubbing or washing. Only pat dry very carefully and apply a healing ointment. I wash my penis every time I urinate and apply the ointment right away. I went back to work today and I wore a jock strap with a cup to avoid any accidents, friction with underwear and pants. It worked out great!!

I am very happy with my results and I especially love how my penis looks!!!

No sexual activity or masturbation for 3 weeks. No problem. I am looking forward to my first sexual activity in 3 weeks and especially the full ejaculation I will produce! :-D

Men!! Take charge of your penis!!! Take charge of your sex life!! Be responsible!! And enjoy your manhood!!!

My 7 year old son has just had this procedure done at 12 o'clock today and now is sat at home watching cartoons 6 hours later.
He had a problem with his foreskin reattaching itself to the head of the penis aswell as having a tight frenulum. Procedure was quick and pain free, there was a slight bit of discomfort after and the first wee was really sore. We were given some cream to make the penis numb because he was worried about having a wee after the 1st time, and seems to worked a treat. So fingers crossed it will be ok for the long term. Looks alot better already.

My mother always pulled my foreskin back for cleaning and taught me to do it. So mine always rolled back easily except for that pesky frenulum that hurt if I pulled it too tight. When I got married the advent of regular sex took care of that. It tore several times until finally it was no longer a problem. After that I was able to pull my foreskin back so the the whole skin begins to stretch without any frenulum problems. It has been soooo nice to have a foreskin that does that for most of my life. Being able to have the inner foreskin stretch without any pain has added immensely to my sexual pleasure and the foreskin rolling back and forth easily has been great for my wife's comfort and pleasure.

I certainly recommend getting that darn frenulum out of the way as soon as possible.

I'm curious though, did you do it because it was bothering your son or to give him the pleasure you knew he would have with it gone? :-D

hey, I had a frenuloplasty 5 days ago. I'm 18, am in a very comfortable relationship, and my girlfriend (fairly experienced with sex with ex boyfriends) really doesn't mind. She's held out for 5 months! We'd try sex, but the second the tip would enter, it would be a pain I'd rather not have last than say, 10 seconds. I told all of my symptoms to my local GP, and she told me I'd need a frenuloplasty. It would hurt to retract the foreskin when flaccid, to the point I'd get about half-way and give up. It, obviously, hurt more when erect, could manage just over I'd say a quarter. Since my frenuloplasty, retracting to halfway hasn't inflicted any pain on me yet, but I'm still weary as to how much I can do. Should I try to fully retract, or is it understandable, 5 days after, I shouldn't try yet? Another thing I'm wondering whether any of you have noticed, is a thin layer in places on the tip of a gunky off-white substance. It's not looking like a problem, but I'm wondering whether anyone else had this at first? Thanks!

I guess you haven't pulled it back to see what it looks like yet. I would have been so curious to see what was done I'd have been skinning that thing back as soon as I could get my co*k skinners on it. I'd certainly pull it back until I began to feel a little pain. Personally I would want to keep pulling it back as much as I could to make sure it didn't try to reattach itself. The goal is to be able to pull it back all the way for your comfort and pleasure.

The thin layer of white stuff you mention is on your glans I assume. I guess you never were able to pull your foreskin back far enough to expose your glans. That is called smegma and it's completely mormal. It's produced by your glans and you can expect to find it constantly replenishing itself. You can rinse it off with plain water to keep it clean. That's the stuff the doctor told my mother to clean off at bath time by retracting my foreskin and cleaning all the exposed parts.

I don't understand doctors who do these operations, flenluloplasty and circumcision. They seem to have the attitude they know what you need and the hell with what you want, you're going to get it their way. When a woman has a breast alteration or a face lift they certainly discuss it with the doctor so they both know what she wants. How much more important is it that you get what you want and know what you're getting when altering your penis?

Mine ended up, by the grace of God, getting torn naturally so that I can't tell I ever had a frenulum and it's wonderful. Being able pull my foreskin all the way back so the inner foreskin is stretched out to cover my whole shaft is the most pleasurable thing I can imagine. If I was talking to a doctor about doing that for me I would expect him/her, as the experienced professional in this conversation, to explain to me just what the benefits of completely removing it are and how that enhances my pleasure. That way we could agree on exactly what I should expect to have after the operation.

Let us know how it works out for you. I hope you find you can pull it all the way back.

I know about smegma, but I'm sure I will have seen it before, when peeling it back half way... I peeled it back shortly after my post, funnily enough. It looks ok! Will be pleased to see it fully recovered - no pain, just nervous ;) thanks for your reply!

Have you looked at it to see why it hurt? Maybe there is still something attached to the tip or maybe it just has not healed up yet.

I had the the problem with retracting my foreskin behind the glans. When flacid I can retract my skin ,but when I am erect it is too tight and will not easily slip over the glans. I was told it is mild phimosis and some lubrication cream can help. A couple of dr suggested circumcision and few said I am okay.

I depended on K-Y jelly durng sex or will do it with condoms so that the rubber gives me a grip and the skin need not be pulled back.
The problem still was in back of my mnd and I always was careful diring sex.I was worried about my girl pulling my forskin skin all of a sudden and the pain.

Now last weeek I consulted an Urologist, he examined and said I had short frenulum.I heard this for the first time and he recommended for frenuloplasty.I did some internet search on similar forums and got to agree that I will have to get the procedure done.I also opted for partial circumcision as my foreskin was also tight and didnt want to wait and go for a second time to the surgery.

I just got this done 4 days back .It was done on Local anaesthetic and I never realised any pain, except for the one injection prick for making the area numb. I was never even on any pain killer subsequently.I stayed at hospital for a day just for observation.
After 4 days ,I just had my review today and the urologist said I am doing good.Th swelling will take about 3-4 weeks to become normal.I am able to do my normal activities.I could see part of my glans are exposed and a bit of hang of skin at the bottom. My dr says that all will become good once the swelling is gone.

I notice my prick looks differnt as I was uncut all these years. But if my foresking can be retracted when erect w/o any pain ,I would feel different.Waiting for the stitches and wound to heal.

Depends where you get in done I guess bud. Sounds like alot of people here got theirs under local.

I got mine done 5 days ago under the NHS. They put me under a general anaesthetic in day surgery. This meant I went to the hospital at about 7:30am, sat around till 11am, when I got changed and got taken into theatre. I layed down on a bed, they popped a cannula (a tube for inserting drugs) into the back of my hand, put me to sleep with some meds, and the next thing I know I'm coming around in post-op chatting some major guff to the nurse.

2 hours later (or longer if you aren't ready) you are sent on your way. It's a really simple procedure. The doctor explained that he also put a penile block in (so I couldn't feel a thing down there for a good few hours) to numb the pain. Literally a few cuts on the frenulum and stitches to make the whole thing longer and you're done.

After that I was told to retract the foreskin at least twice a day. This is to make sure that the scar that forms isn't too tight (otherwise you'd have the same problem). I've been doing it about 4-5 times, backed up by painkillers of course, so that it doesn't hurt really at all, even if it has bled a little bit.

Can anyone else post recovery times? I wonder if I've been a little too enthusiastic in my retraction. Although the wound looks fine, I've only got one stitch left in (the rest just sort of disappeared/ dropped out). I know this is supposed to happen but not after 5 days surely? I also had a raging boner earlier and couldn't help but gently ease one out (foreskin unretracted to avoid pain). Bad move?
