Does anyone have referrals to an urologist that can perform a frenuloplasty in the San Francisco Bay Area, Northern California, or even the Los Angeles area?

I visited a a few urologists and they either want to do a single transverse cut or frenulotomy (removal of the frenulum).  From what I've read, a z-plasty is the preferred method, over a single transverse cut.  I'd like an experienced urologist who can do the z-plasty.

For those who had a frenuloplasty, was it a z-plasty or single transverse cut?  How did you like the results?

Thanks!

I can't help you with your search but I can tell you what happened to me.

I tore mine during sex and the first time the split healed together causing it to be even shorter due to the scar tissue. It was a split straight across the frenulum. The second time I knew enough to prevent the ends from getting back together and it was much better. It tore a few times until now it looks as if I never had a frenulum. I cannot see any trace of it and my foreskin can be pulled tightly back with no discomfort at all and no bending of the head.

The way I prevented the ends from getting together was to hold it back so the cut was opened as much as possible and I wrapped it with toilet paper. Then I rolled the foreskin back forward to trap the TP in the cut. After several days it had healed over so I was able to remove the TP and allow it to finish healing. I have no visible scar tissue presumably because the ends were not allowed to grow back together.

My advice, when you do find the surgeon you are looking for, be sure he/she will relieve the tension of it completely as it is purely JOY to be able to pull my foreskin all the way back and my wife loves it too as my penis slides in and out easily and causes her no pain either.

Yo, I had this done 2 days ago. After tearing my frenulum while dry humping, it had healed incredibly quickly and my penis was better than ever. More freedom. There was a little scar though that was tight and I feared it might tear again, cause it had been painful during sex a little bit when I got too rough.
Well, I went in, they put a numbing cream on my junk, they injected me twice in my pubis area, which I didn't feel much because of the cream. Then they injected me hella times with more numbing stuff around the bottom part of my shaft. Then they were gonna cut into me, but I felt it!!! They had to inject me hella more times around the upper part of my shaft, closer to the area of the procedure. Then it went numb. Except for my urethra and a little bellow it. I felt some stuff when they got closer to it. Luckily, I had already relieved it like half an inch during the initial tear.
Anyways, they cut me up and stitched me up while we chit chatted about stuff. 2 people working on me and an assistant. Oh, there was also a clamp on my penis to keep the foreskin out of the way.
They lowered the bed, I got up, and couldn't feel my junk. It was bumpy, swollen, bruised and there was dried blood. It's not pretty. It's not too ugly either. Some discomfort here and there with rubbing. There wasn't any need for the Vicoden I had been prescribed. Took a couple anyways.
I've retracted a couple times a day since then. A little Sharp pains, but nothing bad. It can be pulled back. I don't know exactly how far i can go though. I also don't want it to heal too tight, or heal back together! The doctors didn't give me special instructions or anything. They said go about your normal activities. Well, sans sex or anything uncomfortable. No ibuorofen either, it may icrease blood flow in a negative way.
The cut looks purple. It looks like my first scar when I tore it. Hopefully it'll be healing just as quick.

With the first one, I did have an extreme sensation, like a shock, like I was touching the end of a nerve at the very tip of my penis, where the tear started. I'm not looking forward to any of that if there is any if it. Not painful, just shocking. Then again, I have a high tolerance for pain. Anyone experience this shock, nerve touching type of thing after frenuloplasty?

Alright, it's now been two weeks since the operation, and I feel great!
My penis has healed incredibly quick. I cleaned my penis every day. I retracted it once or twice a day, carefully. I'm not sure whether I wasn't supposed to do that, or if I was supposed to expose it more. But, it looks great, and there's hardly a scar. One day, about 5 or 6 days after the surgery, I applied Neosporin, and the next day my penis looked so much better. I wish i had used neosporin before. I used it two more times, and I"m basically healed. Today is day 14 or 15. I don't feel the wound anymore. I just feel the stitches that have remained. My wound is healed, but I still have stitches. I hope they dissolve soon. Some of the stitches are gone though.

Its clean now. No smeg. When I applied neosporin, the smeg, neosporin and dissolving stitches looked and smelled rank. But, the penis has lots of blood and it doesn't get infected; especially with the neosporin, of course.

I was brought to orgasm by my boyfriend something like 8 days after my surgery. We were careful. It was astronomically relieving and amazing.

This new penis is amazing. The feeling is intense, and great. No lack of stamina, as I have read one person say. Its better than ever.

Yes, i've been receiving oral sex, and even masturbated... with these stitches still in here. Annoying. They're actually starting to hurt now. They didn't after everything had healed after neosporin. I'm considering just clipping them now, and removing them myself. I"m scared of holes, like piercings, remaining where the stitches are. Any suggestions? Ideas?

Hey, my insurance covered it. If it's painful, they should cover it. It didn't cost a dime. Woot woot.

I am 29 and never had an issue with my frenulum. I could always retract my skin comfortably when hard. However one agressive sexual experience (fun) left a small notch in it. I waited and I could still have fun hard sex. It would be a bit sore after though. I was told by a nurse to see a urologist and get it fixed. A simple frenuloplasty was all I needed. The urologist seemed confident with it. So I had the surgery. He took more than I expected but it seemed to heal not bad. Though now retracting caused pain and it was very tight where the new skin acts as a frenulum. He said no sex for two weeks. I waited 4. I tried having sex and snap rip and spray I am back where I stared in a sexless new relationship with the girl I'm seeing cleaning blood out of her white carpet and bed. I am furious. I see him again next week. It's that risk reward. I was functional and could enjoy sex. Now I can't. Is there light at the end of the tunnel? How long does it take to heal fully? Can I have hard agressive sex ever again? I am so frustrated and feel that this urologist has ruined my sex life forever.

I had mine today, the doctor had me remove my paints and underwear then sit on the exam table then lay back, I had my legs up on part of the table that puled out. He moved the foreskin back and put some cream on the under side of my penis on the frenulum. After about three minutes he injected my penis with the pain killer, all I felt was a very small "pinch" after another minute I felt nothing. he cut my frenulum once in the middle and then put two stitches on each side of where he cut the frenulum. It has been about six hours so far and I have had no paid at all. It took about ten minutes, I was not given any pain pills the doctor said if I need something to take what I had at home, over the counter stuff. I wanted to check so as soon as I left his office I went to the rest room, I was able to move the foreskin all the way back to the base ! I left the foreskin back and it has stayed where I left it and that is where I plan to keep it. It was done in his office not an operating room, that was not needed. The operation is so simple I think any GP should be able to do it, IF they would but most will not. Mine would not do it. the doctor said my frenulum was not short, however it was connected in the wrong place which made it very painful to move the foreskin back. I wish i would have had this done when I was 13 not 66 !

Can you please tell me at what hospital did you have yours done? I think I might need the operation and want to deal with experienced doctors/hospital. Thanks.
