Actually, I drink over 64 oz of water every day and have for years, and I still have gall bladder "sludge" which may be turning into stones. Eating the right fats is so important, which is hard for me because I love organic unsweetened chocolate! My doctor also said to stay away from carbonated beverages, alcohol, caffeine, chocolate, butter, almond butter/peanut butter and coconut oil. And I said, "Just shoot me!" If you google "fats to eat for gallbladder disease" or something like that, it will guide you.

I agree!!! I had my out 15 years ago at the age of 20. I have pain all the time where my gallbladder was, I guess it's my liver. I had an ulcer in my stomach for years and have acid reflex everyday. Do you know of any good sites for long term care?

I had my gallbladder out in August of 2016. I feel like a new person! I walk dauly, changed how I prepare my food, what I eat, and where I eat. I removed all beef and pork from my diet. I eat Perdue fit and easy chicken with 2 grams of fat. Giant carries Nature's Promise chicken with 1 gram of fat. I eat fruits and vegetables. I eat quinoa, Activia fat free yogurt replaced ice cream , 1% cottage cheese replaced dips, hummus, fat free pretzels replaced greasy chips, low fat ginger snap cookies replace any desserts, and I don't eat any chocolate. I've lost 30 pounds too. Hope this might help.

Hello
I am 54 yrs old and never really thought I was eating foods high in fat but I had my first attack over last Xmas (2015) I found myself in the ER. Went home after I burped for 15 min.
5 weeks later I was in the ER again. I realized that pizza was the common denominator.
I gave up the pizza and have adopted a cleaner healthier diet. Even though I suffered 4 mild attacks, I can tell you what NOT to eat.
I'm going to wait it out for awhile. Not sure what anyone has to say. But so far so good.
I feel good. Walking more.

I'm afraid of surgery. Supposed to go next week for the removal of gallbladder.
I keep thinking if I drink enough lemon water it may dissolve the stones. What do have to say for this ? Am I dreaming?

Hi, I also had my gallbladder removed when I was 31 years old, 26 years ago. I was diagnosed with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) after a colonoscopy about 20 years ago. Recently within the last 7 months however I have noticed an increase in symptoms (rectal bleeding, increased bouts with diarrhea, heart burn and acid reflux). I was house bound for 3 weeks because I would have several bouts a day of diarrhea. The last week or seemed like everything I ate went right through me. I also have alot of abdominal painand that is not the norm for me either. I am now being sent to a gastroenterologist for a full work up and diagnosis. Please make sure that the IBS that you were diagnosed with its correct! I am going to insist that I be tested for other things such as colitis (which my mother was diagnosed with in her 50's), chrones, ulcerative colitis and celiac disease. Because I know my body and I know that something is wrong!

Drinking more water is no guarantee for a healthy gall bladder. I drank over a gallon every day due to a history of kidney stones. Instead, just recently, I had to have my gall bladder removed and the stones were rather large and made the surgery difficult, as the stones were too big. I continue to loose weight with no explanation. Endoscopy and colonoscopy were normal. Blood work fine.

I had my gallbladder removed when was 19, now I am 40. I was not informed about a lot of things back then. The biggest thing was that even years later you still produce stones. I had a doctor recommend a surgery that was not really an option for me. He wanted to cut a slit in my bile duct to help with the newly formed stones, but it could have caused pancreatitis. It's really an issue with your liver that causes the problems with the gallbladder. But other than the "normal" issues, I've had no other problems.

I'm one year post gallbladder removal. I've lost 35lbs and am severely malnourished. Eating anything makes me sick. I'm weak, can't concentrate & my doctor gives me no answers at all..., except to throw a nerve pill at me. Daily routines are something of the past for me; how I feel has gotten that bad.
I never participate in posts, but I feel your advice could probably help me and others. After doing all the research I can, from my reliable sites, I have to add that I agree with your suggestion.
I'm going to start my plan TODAY, which closely coralates with your advice.

Before I had mine removed I had good luck drinking ACL, apple cider vinegar, mixed in water, drinking lemonade (either no sugar, honey okay, or diluted), and oil of peppermint or peppermint tea.

My gallbladder was removed 32 years ago... I must say after reading others experiences, that I am fortunate. I think a few facts are important to recognize- a bad gallbladder needs to go period. I must say I've never missed mine. I only weighed 98 pounds when they took it out-I couldn't eat.
I haven't had any issues in 32 years, but I never liked fast food and never drank alcohol much. That may have been a big benefit. I just got my first blood report that showed higher levels than normal regarding my liver.
I plan to eat more foods regularly that benefit and help my liver work better.
I hope that every non-gallbladder person does all they can to enjoy a healthy life. I feel blessed to have the knowledge to make the best choices for my body.
I wish you all the best!
