First time to this forum and I have read LOADS of useful information.
My question is this, have any of you had gallbladder surgery while in pregnancy?
I ask because I am 15 weeks, 2 days pregnant and have had severe gallbladder attacks since I was about nine years old. No one could ever diagnose me, and it even got to the point where my parents did not even believe me and told me that it was all in my head (yeah right).
I finally diagnosed myself months ago and my husband and I had a nice trip to the ER yesterday morning. Since I got pregnant, I have had severe gallbladder attacks (I did before but it is definitely more frequent) and it seems ANYTHING can set it off. They last for hours at a time, usually waking me up in the middle of the night. They are getting to the point where I cannot take it anymore as the pain is just WAY too unbearable. I am thinking at this point, it would be more worth it to have it out now than to suffer with this horrendous pain any longer (which makes me feel like I want to die!).
I had an ultrasound done while in the hospital which did find gallstones (of course, I could have told them that!). Hubby and I meet with our doctor and a surgeon this coming Tuesday to discuss options.
For any of you with experience, please feel free to fill me in. I'd love as much info as I can get.

Ps- Here is a little info on my health. I am just 20 years old and am a tad bit overweight (about 40 pounds). Also pregnant (as I said), 15 weeks, 2 days. Other than that, health is good!
