my cousin had her gallbladder removed recently and 6 days later she died of liver failure and she never drank could this be connected the doctors said the reason her liver failed is unknown and inbetween from the time of her surgery till the time she died she went in the hospital complaining about pain and all they said to her that it was gas from the surgery and 2 days later she dies of liver failure this all seems so unclear to me something is missing and someone is hiding something

My dad had his gallbladder removed on 23 January 2013 and died on 25 January 2013. They said that it was embedded in his liver and that my mum had to check he didn't turn yellow but was still discharged from hospital. He was rushed back in on 24 January and despite being told at A&E about the operation was not given any antibotics or seen very quickly. He was sicking up bile and his tummy was enlarging and yet the medical staff took a long time to realise that perhaps a clip had come loose and poisons were leaking into him. We are devestated as my Dad was only 65. There appears to be numerous things that weren't done by A&E which if they had been may have given a different outcome. I am speaking to the surgeon soon, I need some answers and I am thinking about taking legal action for negligence.

I had mine taken out Jan 05, Have had all the classic symptoms. chronic diarrhea after I ate anything like butters, oils, chocolate, broth.  I found out I was pregnant in May. I was five months along and had my daughter in Oct. I was pregnant when they did my surgery and they didn't know. My twin sister just got hers out a few days ago and is now back in the e.r. because they think they nicked her liver. She was turning yellow and was throwing up. I finally have my issues with this surgery under control, only took 8 years but it does ease up.

I went in to have my gall bladder removed but encountered a few injuries, as a result of which I now eat with a feeding tube. also got 3 drains still in.place. the injuries were1)bile duct was almost all removed, 2)holes in the duedinum, 3)nicks to the small intestine, 4)and piece of the pancreas cut off. so it's been two months and still waiting to recover from the pancreas injury.

I can't understand all the problems people have with the gall bladder surgery.    Are most of these being done in a country other than the USA?     I had mine out three weeks ago and have not had one problem, except some pain for two days after the surgery.    People need to check out their surgeon and hospital before having the surgery.    It can be very dangerous to keep a diseased or stone filled gall bladder in when it needs to be removed.

Did you finalized your Lawsuit already? I'm curious to find out the name of the Surgeon who performed the first surgery, also wanted to find out the name of your Houston Lawyer and what was the outcome of the lawsuit (if you don't mind sharing). We live in Austin, 6 years ago my Dad had a Gallbladder removal surgery and now he's experiencing the consequences of a bad surgery, he's has been suffering for all this past 6 years and just recently found out the cause was the surgery performed 6 years ago...now he has to have another surgery which involved the removal of one of his ribs, to make the area accessible to be cleaned up....please send me any information that you think it might be useful to us...more than anything I'm interested to find the Surgeon's name, to see if it was the same and if not, hopefully is not the one that will performed my Dad's second surgery, which will be within the next 2 weeks. Thank You, I really appreciate in advance.

I had my gallbladder removed in oct. 08, and the surgeon nicked my intestions, was doing the surgery with scope and in the end had to cut me and remove it the old fashion way, I ended up with 2 major infectionsj, additional surgery to repair my intestions, and also was on wound vac for about 45days. for the last five years I have had problems with stomach swelling, pain in upper right abdomen, back , nausea, pain has set in for the last 2 weeks and has not quit, dr says I have IBS. Any thoughts or suggestios

What you have experienced is very similar to our experience , but my sister died. We went to a Coroners court but they also work for the Govt. Various medical staff were called whom said this had never happened before.(NHS DO NOT SEEM TO HAVE TO ANSWER FOR ANY MISTAKES THEY MAKE). The AVMA in Croydon, Surrey helped me to get the solicitors to ask more questions. Unfortunatley I could not carry on with the case because of the legal cost and the emotional stress at that time.
