After several years of taking glyburide for Type II Diabetes and having chronic insomnia during that time period, my sleep problems went away. I started another medication and stopped glyburide, however, on resuming taking just 1/4th the dosage I had been taking, the insomnia returned and is much worse? Has anyone had this problem with glyburide?
I have been on it for 2 years now and wondered just had a scan done at a hospital and they said that is causes liver damage. I wonder how long and how much before it does permanent damage and if there is some other stuff that we can take. I gained 8 pounds from taking it. They never said anything about it being bad for you but this doctor told me today that it is what caused the liver damage. He asked me if I drank and I said yes and then when I told him that I took Glyburide he said that is what is causing it.
