Thank you for the info. It sounds like it is fistula and some kind of ongoing infection. I must call the dentist on this.

I have this same problem but i wouldnt use the word pimple..mine is much muvh bigger and i cant get it to drain because its too large and painful. Ive needed a root canal done for years but have no insurance. Mine has gotten so bad i have two of these "pimples". One on each aude of the tooth. Someone told me that the fluid in them can make you sik if you accidentally swallow it. Is this true?? Also sincr i cant pop them myself will they eventually go down or drain themselves?? Im really nervous but dont want to pick at things and, make it worse

hi i am 71 and have had a re-accuring pimple on my right side above the canine tooth. it has reocurred and reocurred numerous times. I just pop it and it does not smell or taste bad, then it bleeds, i have had this for 20 or so years and on the same tooth. i am inclined to think it is a sinus problem cause the sinuses lay right above the teeth.

I am a 22 year old female.  I first had a filling, and my dentist drilled through my nerve so my tooth abscessed.  I had to have a root canal surgery from a specialist.  Then I had a temporary crown.  I has a real crown put on a couple of months ago.  Now I have a huge pimple/ boil thing on my top right gum above the crowned tooth.  My cheek is not sore, and the bump is sore.  It only hurts a little bit when I bite down, but not all the time.  The bump feels kind of squeeshy.  I got the dentist to call me in some antibiotics and have been taking those for a couple of days.  I have not been to the dentist's office yet...any advice?

Could you avoid getting root canal treatment and just get the tooth taken out?

Hello. I'm 25 years old and for about a year or so, I've had this pimple right under one of my molers that I had a root canal done on. Before it appeared, another dentist told me that I may need a retreat done on it, but of course, I couldn't afford one. Now, after about a couple of years the damned thing started swelling up big. The thing isn't as big as it was a week ago, but it's still tender and a little swollen. I'm a little freaked out by it, but I can't see a dentist until I straighten out some stuff with my case worker who I have to go through for CMSP. Any suggestions or info I could use?

So I went to the specialist and it required a lot of antiobiotic treatment on the old.root canal, about 20 yo dental work. I had to go three weeks in a row. Pimple gone. Now to my regular dentist to make another crown. I know so far they.billed.my ins abouut fifteen hundred. If you dont get this treated, it will rot the bone and the sorrounding teeth.

I have something similar...little tiny white bumps above my canine close to the upper gum....I pop it and it goes away and then it comes back. If I gargle with special stuff for gums it stays away for a while but if I forget to use the product it comes back within a few days. I am sick of it after a year or so of this so I am making an appointment soon. By the way this is happening on a tooth that has already been replaced ..crown..etc...hope the dentist can help!

Hey, im having a similar problem a month ago i noticed that my lower left molar tooth was a little loose since its right next to where the wisdom tooth is gonna come out i tought it was just the wisdom tooth pushing it up from lack of room but a few days ago i noticed that the outer area of the gum under the tooth was red and swollen, at 1st it seemed to be getting smaller but today when i went to check up on my tooth i found out that there swelling had gotten worse altho the tooth isnt loose anymore, i tried to touch the swollen area and alot of pus came out of it, but unlike others with white dots in the sentre it came out of a small hole between the gum and the tooth, i had a root canal done a year or two back but i dont remember which tooth it was done on, has anyone experienced this before?

I actually get a similar thing every now and then.  I had an abscess about 2 years ago and got a root canal.  Ever since the root canal I've been getting this gum pimple thing every 3 to 6 months, I just pop it each time so it can drain and then get on with my life.  I don't know if it can have long term implications, as I've read of the dangers of an abscessed tooth, but I doubt its the tooth as I had a root canal already.

About 2 to 3 days before the pimple thing appears I start getting a huge tooth ache in my front tooth (the tooth which had the root canal), the tooth is very sensitive to hot and cold and it almost feels as if the tooth is just going to fall out any second.  But I guess its from the pressure from the puss or something.   But right after I pop the pimple the pain goes away.

what if a root canal with crown had been performed and the fistula didn't appear for almost 20 years later?

It is possible that it still got infected since the tooth has been tampered with. Once they do something like that, it is prone to more bacteria down there.
