due to very low blood iron levels which didn’t get higher with using the prescription iron supplements alone, my doctor recommended I have iron dextran infusion. To be honest, I was quite scared at first, reading all the negative reactions and infusion being given through the 5-8 hours period. luckily, my doc first did a test dose in 15 minutes, and since everything was OK I got the rest of the infusion in a period of about an hour.
I think I’m feeling better already, but I know it takes some time for new red blood cells to form and I was wondering when will this start to happen?
