Hanging piece of hymen

Hymenal tags are normal and considered quite sexy!! Some small, some long, some large, some wide. Many of them are visible on mainstream porn stars and models.

IF IT HURTS it should be addressed. Any pain should be. But if it's just a hymenal tag, then please consider before you go through some painful process (especially on your own at home!!!).

Woh first of all i would say I'm 20 too as well as a virgin n have the same issue but according to me thins hanging piece out of vagina has nothing to do with virginity...as i was in 5 or 6th standard when i nearly didn't even start bleeding..i noticed this hanging piece after coming from playground ..then my mum had a chevk up from the gyno n he said it is normal...though i wad a kid it was obvious it had nothing to do with sex..but then don't know is it hymen as i tried cutting it ...n it freaking was bleeding like hell i hot scared n now I'm in a dilemma what exactly is it?

Okay, exactly the same for me I got fingered at the age of 13! Please do not judge and every time this has happened it’s kinda hurt and I haven’t orgasmed same with sex! I don’t want to tell anyone since I was too young and under age. But basically it hurts all the time and I looked down there to find this peice hanging from my labia I think? But I re searched it a few months later and I’ve finally found this site. Will I ever orgasm or is that a no?

If I cut it off will it hurt and It’s kinda worn away but not a lot. Some sites have said it will wear away I’m not sure weather this is true or not. I really need some advise. I thought this is what everyone had but now I don’t think so.

It may not be your hymenal tag that's causing the pain. It could be that, though, especially if it's a septate hymen or formerly septate hymen that broke in a damaging way.

Before you do any cutting or surgery or *anything*, check it all out first! And, please, if you have not done so, get with a therapist and talk through your early experiences with sex. It could be that your lack of ability to orgasm isn't physical at all but stems from these experiences that happened way too early in your development.

you can search for images to see whether you match with others who have hymenal tags (or to use the slang term p***ytongues), and you can seek out places that have further, knowledgable discussion of these matters. It's my experience that most doctors simply do not know much about this and will replicate myths and legends, some of them quite harmful.

I don't know if you'll read this as it has been awhile since this post. But I'm in the same exact spot as you. I honestly thought I was the only one who had this issue. The tampon thing was how I found out about mine. I was still a virgin when I first saw it so I was unsure of what it was, but I would have to pull my tampon out sideways because it would get caught in this "loop" I assumed it was my hymen. I thought once I had sex it'd go away, but it hasn't. Two years later of having sex and it's still there. As gross as it is, my boyfriend tells me he can still feel it sometimes when he goes in. Ughh so anyway, although my tampons don't get stuck like they use to, the hymen still hangs out a bit. I have seriously considered cutting it several times. Did you ever get yours fixed or find out if it was your hymen or not? My dr wasn't sure as to what it was.

So the other day, my boyfriend and I had sex. My hymen broke. It’s just hanging down there. Will it disappear over time or will I have to get it removed?

So this may sound weird but just few days before my periods.. My hymen just hangs out.. I don't know what happened.. I never had sex.. I do pleasure myself.. After reading few posts I understand that it's normal.. I am a sporty person and do a lot of trekking and all so it may have happened that my hymen broke.. But I also notice that sometimes when it's hanging I can see blood when I wipe myself.. I am even afraid to masturbate anymore because I feel like may be it's because of hormones or something.. I had UTI recently.. Please help

Please don’t cut it yourself. Go to a good gynecologist. It will give you peace of mind and comfort.
