hi,
some women have a yeast infection called bacterial vaginosis, symptoms of it are heavy discharge which can sometimes smell a bit too. it's nothing to worry about, ie doesn't make you infertile or have any bad side effects, and i don't think it is contagious, but you can't treat it medically. if you get a sexual health check up they can tell you if you have it or not. if you do have it, try not to touch yourself with your hands too much when washing as your fingers have a lot of yeast on them. use the shower head to clean that area and this might reduce the amount ot discharge you get.
hope this helps, i know how it feels when things feel different down there %-)

That does sound like a yeast infection and it's best to have a doctor confirm it.
Using Monistat or Canestin or any other type over-the-counter yeast infection cure will help a lot.
One thing though, if you have been having unprotected sex with your boyfriend, he can have the yeast infection too and will pass it back to you, even if you do the "cure" so be sure to mention that to your doctor.
In my experience, my husband never gave it back to me but I've heard this can happen. (I think it gives the guys a painful ejaculation)
If you do get an over-the-counter yeast cure, choose one that takes more than one pill (I'd go for the 3day or 7 day one) and a box that includes an external cream, that way if you have any itching, this cream will help get rid of that.
Good luck and I hope this helps.
