My wife and I were trying to get pregnant since we married, two years ago and after she didn’t stay pregnant even after we had completely unprotected sex for the entire time, we started to lose hope. Then all of a sudden she didn’t get her period last month and even though we tried not to get too excited, two pregnancy tests were positive! I can’t describe how happy we were. Unfortunately it seems like we celebrated too early. At her first ob-gyn appointment it seemed there is no heartbeat and ob-gyn ordered constant hcg hormone measuring, but we’re getting less and less hopeful since the hcg values only go down, never up. Should we start to prepare emotionally for the miscarriage?

Hi guest,
It's difficult to detect a heartbeat much before 6 weeks gestation so it may still be a bit early for that.
But, hCG levels should be rising and not falling. It is possible that she'll miscarry.
Good luck
