I am 40 yrs. old, and every time I have my period or eat a little piece of chocolate, I get a funny butterfly feeling between my breasts, that feels like my heart fluttering. can you tell me what that is, and what is causing that?
Hello! It happens to me sometimes that I experience heart palpitations during my periods and sometimes even during PMS. I have been reading that about 20% of women have this symptom during PMS.
Is this something you have always had or something that has just started appearing?
Have you seen a doc? I think that most of the things and symptoms that occurred around or during periods are hormones-related, usually it is excessive estrogen that may cause heart fluttering and palpitations.
What are your periods like? Do you get stressed out when they occur? Because stress has the same impact on the heart.
I can’t relate to chocolate eating and the fluttering because chocolate gives me only the feelings of bless and happiness. I think that chocolate is said that it increases serotonin levels that make us feel blessed.
