Hey guys,

I'm 17 and my foreskin covers my whole penis, forming a red bit at the top, I can pull my foreskin back the whole way while flaccid, but it returns under the red with the red bit forming jus under it, I can be quite umcomfortable. While erect I can only just about pull my foreskin beyond the head, But I heard your foreskin should retract complelty while erect. Can someone please help me? Thanks.

Firstly, 'should' is always a word to be taken with a pinch of salt. There is an exception to every rule, including this one.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'red bit'. I will assume you mean the generally darker head of the penis, which is more sensitive than the shaft of the penis. If you have mean something else, an abrasian, sore, spot or area of sensitivity, then it would be sensible to go to a doctor to ask in person.

If the foreskin is narrower in its diameter than the head of the penis, then retracting comfortably over the head of the penis may not be possible. This is not a problem, simply how your DNA designed you.

If you have no medical conditions (pain, spots, etc as noted), and your penis is comfortable both soft and erect, then no problem.

If you experience discomfort while erect, or find the inability to retract the foreskin to be an issue, then as I understand it, US males are often circumcised, and while this is normally performed at birth, there is no reason why you might not consider such an operation, as far as I'm aware. European males tend to retain their foreskin. It is a societal choice, and has no significant impact either way.
