Agreed - for me add body shaking, sobbing and my husband looked like he wanted to run when I approached him after. This Experience should be treated as a true loner. Lol

Good advice. I had this surgery twice. Once about 7years ago. It must have been more intense because I just had the 2nd surgery and I don’t even need the pain pills. I am having an issue with the ever popular “can’t go” situation. I will add my advice: Take stool softeners with your narcotics, drink lots of water and prune juice. I found the shower to be more comfortable than the sitz bath on the 1st intense surgery. It eliminated the pain pronto - without stretching the stitches - a hand shower is recommended highly. I also paid about $70 for a good raised toilet seat with handles. That is worth every penny if you have short toilets or issues getting off.
I have had no pain killers this surgery — I have discomfort but no real pain. But if I feel a BM coming on, I’m going to take one at that very moment — an a stool softener. Lol.

. Give the area more air circulation when you are able to use no underpants or lay nude in the sun. To dry the area

Baking soda in the bath water helps tremendously with diaper rash, whether it's on babies or adults. Just sprinkle a couple of tablespoons in the water. It resets the PH of your skin so the irritation is eased. Hope this helps.

I am experiencing the exact same pain. It’s been 8 days and I am still recovering. The after surgery is no joke.

I'm on a post hemorrhoid surgery. If I'm on a liquid diet only, should I still take stool softeners? And how long before the stitches dissolve?
