Tonight, I noticed about a dime size lump above my left testicle, but to the underside of the shaft (not connected to the testicle or shaft though). It is soft to touch, like an enlarged vein, and not painful unless rubbed on. There is no sore, redness, or discomfort from it. Tonight, I also found out a girl I had unprotected sex with 2 weeks ago found out she has herpes 2. I am wondering if this could be at all related? In the past week, I have also had strep throat (doctor gave a "strep screen" to verify) and a temperature over 102 degrees. Could this be a symptom of herpes or just swelling due to my sickness? I am going to get tested soon, but was just wondering for now. Thank you.
Hi,
I want to say first that I am a girl.
HSV 2 (the genital type) can cause blistery symptoms. This sounds like a blister of some sort?
It is possible that you caught it from her, but not necessarily to say your 'pimple' is a symptom of it.
These things are very hard to say without being tested just like HIV.
Get tested, be assured, HSV won't kill you..just bug you.
And believe me...HSV 2 is better than HSV 1 as HSV 1 can infect the brain.
Just so you know...90% of the population are said to have HSV 1.
Be safe

Thank you for your reply Orion. The "blister" as you call it does not exactly appear that way. It seems as though it is more internal than external. There are also no signs of broken skin, oozing, or anything. It appears more to be a soft lump underneath of the skin. I know testing is the only way to know for sure, but I just wanted to clarify.
Hey,
sorry to call it a blister, I'm from Australia and the word dime I'm thinking is baout the size of a large pea? Also being a girl doesn't help much with the male anatomy ha ha...
It could very well be a vein then...if it feels like normal skin on the outside...what's it like inside? Does it move around like agland or is it a hard lump?
It's not a typical location for a tumour so possibly a vein like you said, a gland maybe....herpes afects the outside of the skin so unless it's purely on the outside..it shouldn't cause a lump.
Cheerio
