Hi, I am just posting to get other's input and to see if others had the same situation.
I'm 22 years old. I took the depo provera shot once at the end of april. I was fine with it other than my sudden uncontrollable mood swings and uncontrollable emotions. I never really had that much of an issue with those, until then. I didn't bleed for a month and a half, but then I started. Badly. I also had cramps that progresivly got worse to the point where I couldn't move. I'm not getting as bad cramps now, but I'm still bleeding and it's October. I've been bleeding fairly regularily and heavily since June 5th, give or take a day. I went to the hospital when my cramps were at it's worst on July 6th, and they said it was fine. I haven't seen a doctor since as my life is hectic as I work a lot as well as have moved appartments twice in this time.
Before taking a shot, my periods never lasted more then 2 days, nor did I get moody or every have any cramps. I keep reading horror stories about how you lose fertility and such after the depo shot, and I really don't want that to happen. I never wanted to get the shot, but was forced on it as a way for my mother not kicking me out before I moved out as I refused to take the pills again as both caused me to bleed for a month.
I was informed by someone at the hospital that I shouldn't be taking hormonal birth control. Not sure if I should go see another doctor soon or not as I'm still constantly bleeding. I haven't paid attention to weight as I've got enough on my mind.
i am 35, i was put on the depo when i was 16 so wish i never ever did the i did get mood swings bad, my weight gain was 50 pounds my periods stoped. i would for shore call the Dr. ASAP and do the pill and get off the Depo
