I have only had unprotected sex with two men in my life, the last one being almost two years ago. six months after that encounter i felt my glands swelling.....i saw a doctor and he told me it was because a piece of unproperly chewed food got stuck in my gland. but the swelling continued over time,constantly coming and going. for the past 6 months i have felt tired, dizzy, had recurring vaginal infections and sometimes diarehha. i made an appointment for thursday but i am terrified......i haven't had an hiv test in 3 years. i may of had one in febuary because my new job at the time required tuberculousis tests and such, so i'm thinking about calling to verify if i had the test then. i must also mention i have pcos. should i be this paranoid to take this test?
Try to stay calm about the test. Its good that you're taking action. If symptoms were recurring, you probably do not have HIV, as HIV would cause your immune system to not be able to treat your illnesses at all. Plus, if in fact you are HIV positive, the sooner you catch it, the sooner you treat it and it is not as threatening. Try to relax and good luck.
I am in the same boat. I am going on wednesday to get checked. I am praying that I don;t have it for the sole reason of having to tell other people I gave it to them.
