Homosexuality is probably the first genetic steps that could lead to human sociality under the correct conditions...after all it’s all about the balancing of different environmental factors. Perhaps homosexuality is a long term effect of society where working together achieves more than multiplying as fast as possible, perhaps the vast majority of ants, termites and others are 'gay' but do not have the more advanced brains to express it or gain pleasure from it the same way that mammals have been shown to. ????

I read somewhere that gay men had a greater number of progesterone receptors than straight men. Has anyone else read that? Let’s face it if there was a direct gene link, it not going to reproduce its self as quickly as the general population by definition. So, a direct ' homosexuality ' gene would be evolved to extinction fairly quickly. From what I remember the Y chromosome has only about 70 genes on it, and this number is reducing. To point that in humans the Y chromosome will be extinct in 100,000 years, I am trying to say that there is not much spare space in the Y chromosome, so logically it would have to be on the X chromosome.

How would it be a long term effect of society? When a society evolves it is because people start to breed and you can not breed when your gay or live a gay lifestyle?

I think that when someone is gay it's because they choose to and want to be the way they feel more comfortible and at peace. Where have you read/heard that people who are gay work together better than others? I find this very hard to prove or believe.

I like how you are questioning everything! You sound very smart and have good questions to ask. Looking forward to reading more of your posts.

Take care :)
