I had surgery to remove an 8 mm. stone. Luckily, the stone didn't cause a lot of pain, only a dull ache in my side, after it worked its way down my ureter, so I was able to have it out in very controlled circumstances. Well, the stent's been out for about two weeks and I still have a dull ache in my side. In fact, the ache is slightly greater than it was with the stone in place.
Has anyone else had this occur? Does the ache fade over time? A few more weeks, a year, two decades? I'd ask the doctor, but I don't like to plague them with "Waah, I still have a dull ache. Waah!" but I'd rather not wait for six months until the follow-up appointment.
