For some people it doesn't hurt at all. It didn't hurt for me when I lost my virginity. If your hymen is broken it will probably hurt, at least a little, as he breaks it. You *could* break your hymen yourself before sex to save you a bit of the pain later on. Also... going slow, being relaxed, being turned on (lots of foreplay!) and using added lubrication can all help. If you do do it, remember you can tell him to stop at any point if it's too much for you. Remember protection! ;-)
