Hi, I was reading some article about different medications and frequency of their prescription. I have heard for the most of the medications on that list except Dapsone. I dont know what is it medication for and also I dont know how often is it prescribed? If someone knows something more about it I would like to hear.
Hi, Dapsone is very specific medication which main purpose to cure people who are suffering from leprosy. Thats why this medication not so often prescribed is. However leprosy is still active disease but because of their slow development it is not so often so Dapsone is rarely prescribed because it is his only use.

I take dapsone for an inflammatory condition called relapsing polychondritis. It attacks the cartilage in my body. Dapsone is used for treatment of leprosy but also for some auto-immune diseases and disorders like mine. Dosage is usually between 50-200 my but can go higher.

I also was taking Dapsone for the relapsing polychondritis. What has your dosage been and have you had any side effect?? I was on 100mg twice a day, and ended up in the hospital for 4 days with Methemoglobinemia, and had to receive 3 doses of methylene blue.
