It is the end of the season. My colleagues are looking forward to stash away the running shoes. However I don’t want to stop running completely. I feel that I can continue to run although not as intensively as during the season. Do you have any idea what should my off season running look like? Do you have any suggestions?
Well, the off season should be: off. What I mean, you should take at least several weeks off. I mean no running at all. Give your body a break. It is necessary both; physically and psychologically. After that you can run say, twice a week some medium distance at really easy pace. It would be good to bring some friends along so that you can talk during the run. That will make it fun and you will not notice that you had a workout. Talking during running in this case serves as a limiter. It will force you to keep a steady and easy pace; otherwise you will not be able to talk.
