OK, I'm currently doing 25 miles a week, and want to increase to 27 next month, and 30 in July, then take it from there. Does anyone have any opinions on how it should be done - i.e I am planning on taking a few down weeks, but how far down should I drop (I don't want to just plateau as I am worried about injury and my body needs breaks a bit more than other people)
The averages will run
May 25
June 27
Jul 30

but do you think I should put a down week in every month, for example? should I jump straight up to the next level (as it's only a small jump), or go in one mile per week increments?

Thanks,
Laura
I would just go straight up with the mileage. 2 miles/mo. increase is way less than the recommended 10%/week. I think you're safe.

You're right! I am just so over-cautious. I'm worried about injury after everything is going so well, and also increasing my mileage tends to bring out the worst in me re- obsessions.

This week will actually be 30, and I'm not quite sure how that happened (apart from I only did one track session) but I think the rest will go:

June: 25, 27, 27, 29
July: 26, 29, 30, 30

Sounds good?
