Although my mother tongue is French I am writing a small book in English:
I want to say the following sentence, but I do not know whether it is correct.
If not, can anyone suggest a replacement?
In ´village name´, lived the most respected ´name´ household, brahmin family of the village
Thanks.

"The most respected household in "village name" was the Brahmin family."
Is that what you're trying to say?
You could also say that:
"The Brahmin family is/was the most respected household in "village name."
