I have been hypocalcimic for 27 years as a result of a thyroid operation impacting on my hormone and calcuim levels. It has been a constant battle to balance this. The Endocrinologist has increased my medication but am experiencing memory loss, spates of depression, low energy levels, and shoulder pains.
Is there any one that can relate to this to share how they coupe with it, or is there alternative medication or help of this condition.
Oh my gosh! i had the same thing happen to me! when i was in grade seven, the doctor found sists in my thyroid gland, and they ended up having to take the whole thing out. The surgeon accidentally took out all of my parathyroids, meaning that now i have to take calcium, magnesium, vitamin D and the synthroid. the endocrinologists eventually figured out that problem and since i was growing, my levels got all messed up, so they had to change it up a lot. i was in the hospital for two weeks at a time once.
When i get low calcium, my syptoms are; that i get sort of a pins-and-needles feeling starting in my arms and depending on how low i am, all throughout my body. Do you take Rocaltrol?
