Ohk, Well I really want to lose weight. I weigh 200 pds. and I'm 13. Every1 says to people around me "Oh Kathryn's daughter is pretty, but she'd be pretty if she were skinnier. And it makes me feel so bad and Idk what's the best way to do it. I've lost weight b4, but I can't seem to stay on my diet. And what my parents bring home does NOT help. It tempts me to eat it and it's hard to stop. I exercise regularly, but it doesn't show much improvement. What Should I do.

You know, you have one very important thing going for you; you WANT to lose weight. And if you want to lose weight, I believe you can.

There is no magic diet to accomplish what you want to achieve. You can eat just about anything you want. The secret is how much you eat and how many calories there are in what you eat.

It all simply comes down to this: eat less calories than you burn.

You have a wonderful resource at your fingertips; the computer. Use it to learn about food and nutrition. Learn what foods are high and low in calories. Find fun ways to exercise. Find friends who have the same problem and work together.

As simple as that seems, I understand it's harder than it sounds. Take it in small steps. Don't concentrate on loosing 30, 40, 50 pounds. Work on loosing that 1 or 2 pounds a week. Just think, if you were to drop 2 pounds a week, you would be loosing 8 pounds a month. Add that up for a year. I think you see where that could lead you.

Be persistent. Think positive. You're doing this for you, not for anyone else and you are the most important person in the world. Hey... if you don't take care of yourself, who will?
