It sounds like you are describing pre-mature ejaculation...which is generally described as climaxing anytime before you want to on a regular basis.
It's possible that you are having sex less frequently with your wife than you use to. This might mean that you have a larger supply of sperm or semen built up that is stimulating you to climax earlier. However, you also might be experiencing less lubrication from your wife, and therefore, greater friction or sensation than you had experienced before. You might try buying some water-based lubricant to see if this loosens things up and that your wife enjoys it more and sooner.
You might not attempt penetration as early as you do. Try longer periods of foreplay, perhaps with direct stimulation of your wife's genitals.... by hand, with lube...and trying to give her an orgasm first.... without penetration or intercourse, if that's what puts you over the edge.
I hop these ideas help you. But I'd also suggest that you find and read a good sex ed manual, perhaps "Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Sex" by Dr. David Rubin or "The Guide to Getting It On" by Paul Joannides. It couldn't hurt... and you both might learn some things!
Good luck.

While changes do occur with age, and it might seem like we've forgotten how to have sex for a long time or become and stay erect, it sounds like you are potentially dealing with premature ejaculation. If the change happened very suddenly, I'd not just be worried about my sex life but also about underlying medical issues.
There are medications that can help you with premature ejaculation and they include tramadol, topical anesthetics, and SSRI antidepressants. If there is an underlying condition that should obviously be treated as well.
Don't ignore this, get medical help! It will be good for your health and your sex life.
