That weight comment was very rude and ignorant of you. It sounds like something an ignorant and childish man would say. I am 19. I was 12 when i got my period for the first time. It was the most pain i have ever felt. but that was it. I bled for maybe 3 days, and then nothing. It was 3 months later until my next period. To be honest, i was 12 so not only did i not know how to track a period, i was too shy about things like that to ask my mom to help. So i cant be exact on how often i would get my period, but i was always late by weeks at a time. It got very scary once i was sexually active. Good chance thats why i stopped after i started. It was too scary, and not worth the stress. But at 17 I got pregnant. I was never able to track my period well. It got too complicated for me to deal with. I was always very athletic so when i did get my period it only lasted 3 days and i never had cramps. But once i stopped sports i started to become more regular. I could track it finally. and the cramps were a nightmare. I couldn't walk standing straight up. but now i am scared again, because 5 months after my baby was born i got on birth control. The one that is clipped onto your cervix and works for 5 years. I had it removed two months later. I was ready to have another baby. But i have been unable to get pregnant. The first time i got pregnant, it was unprotected. and honestly i should have gotten pregnant a long long time before that. I have no ideal if i ovulate normal or not or if there is another issue. It is so frustrating not knowing. And every women being different doesn't help much. I don't know if something is wrong with me or not. but this is how it has always been. and as i read these comments apparently i am not the only one, which is very reasuring. I've always though i was sick or deformed in some sense of the word. I just wish i oould get some asnwers. Im going to try and get in to see my dr. Maybe she can help as well

You do not have to get a period to test for pregnancy. You can test for pregnancy about 2 weeks after ovulation which is when hGh will be high enough in your urine to detect if you conceived.

Please don't listen to the commenter who said you were weird. They obviously don't know much about women and gynecological issues.
Every woman is different, and yes, having irregular periods may be perfectly normal for you.
I would suggest you visit your healthcare provider and express your concerns so they can assess whether or not your periods are normal despite the irregularity or if there is something abnormal going on.
If you are frustrated with the irregularity, consider birth control as it does tend to make periods more predictable.

I also have irregular periods (every 3-6 months) which my doctor said is normal for me. But like i said, it is wise to consult your health care provider.

I hope this helps!

I don't know much about it but I started my period when I was 11 and a year later I stoped and I didn't star till I was nearly 13 years old I told my mom she said it might be because I'm over weight but I'm not really sure about it to you have any idea what it might be in 15 now and I started to have my period aleast 3 times a year. I don't know if it's okay or not .

I am 16, and have just been diagnosed with PCOS. I am extremely skeptical about my doctor though, as literally the only two factors leading up to the result of PCOS was that I had irregular periods (4-5 months apart) and I have acne. No other factors, ignoring the fact that I am a teenager, and teenagers have acne. I don't have cysts, or facial hair, or anything. I am going to another doctor - I truly believe they've made a mistake. But anyway, I would advise you get it checked out.

Saaamme I'm 13 and I got my period last year and so far it's every 3 months. I'm not over weight or under weight I'm just average like a size small or sometimes medium. It's super weird but my doctor never mentions it as being weird or odd in any form. Is there still something different or a possibility of it being dangerous??

I have the same thing I'm twelve and I got my period went I was nine, I miss my period 3 months-1 year. Meaning I got my period Janurary 2017 but didn't get it till August. Missed it on October and got it just two dats ago. Last year I missed my period for the whole year! My mol thinks I'm a liar and doesn't want me yo get medical attention for "lies" so when I'm able to drive I will get a doctor to help me with my problem. Until then I cant get treatment. I don't know what's happening but I really want answers and my mom refuses to help!
