Hi, I am new here and not sure of the process but here goes, i had my right kidney removed on mon 10th by keyhole, it's left me with 1 big and 4 smaller incisions, i was finally allowed to come home yesterday after having problems passing water, when i went it seemed that the urethra was leaking causing a burning, searing pain in my abdomen. I don't get that every time now but did twice through the night last night, also, i don't seem to have any control over my bladder, 1 minute i'm ok, the next i'm desperate to go, which i don't make every time by the time i have actually stood up. And then there's the constant pain, there's always a heavy ache in my right side, which hurts when i sit down, lie down, stand up, all the time, i'm on wonderful co-codamol for this, but obviously, it does nothing, it hurts to yawn, cough, laugh, sneeze, beath on occassions if it's a deep breath................wow, i feel like i should be shot, not helped.........so please, if someone can recommend anything at all i will be so greatful, i am a single mum of 3 children and they saw me in pain last night and it scared them, i don't want them to c that again
Post-surgical pain is a common occurrence. People respond differently to the same pain medication. What works for one person may not work for another. Apparently the cocodamol prescribed for you does not work. You need to call in to your doctor's office at your next opportunity and tell them about this. A change in pain med most likely would solve your problem.
Hi there, when I went through oral surgery a few years ago I woke in the middle of the night in intense pain. I am apparently immune to the effects of most powerful painkillers. I just figured you should know that because it sounds like you're going through the same thing. call and ask for stronger meds! And let me know how it goes okay?
