I have spondyliosis and scoliosis, it is extremely painful and I can't put my socks on. Painkillers don't help, physiotherapy didn't help. I am in pain all day everyday! I have lost my job recently. What can I do? I am desperate!

I’m dealing with something almost identical in my 18 yr old. I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with this. It’s not right.

Did you find any forms of pain relief that work?

I recently had scoliosis surgery, (I'm only 15 years old) which was successful. I went to a great hospital of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, they have great team there. I take valium, and oxycodone for pain, but I don't wanna grow used to pain meds either. Anyone have ideas what should I do?

I am 45 years old. I was diagnosed with scoliosis at age 8. At 17 I was told that if I didn't get surgery I would die in a terrible way and that if I did my life would be normal. Serious mistake. Now I am 45 years old and 5 years ago the rod broke and the last year and a half the pain last all day regardless of whether I am standing, sitting or lying down. I went to the doctor who performed the surgery on me and the very coward told me that the pain was an invention of my mind and not to bother him anymore. Alone I am 45 years old. Only the pain is removed With painkillers and I sense that either I lose my sanity or my heart is going to fail. I have read of many cases that were ruined by their lives being only failed experiments. I wish I had had the information sooner. Warn those with scoliosis not to allow surgery.

Hey Amy. My experience had been a little different. Briefly: mine was discovered at age 11. I wore the brace for two years and did fine until after pregnancy. I had my first surgery at age 28; a spinal fusion with great results. 28 years later I had my second surgery at age 56. My fusion was from T-12 - L4. After years of wear and tear on my lower spine, I was having pain related to misalignment between L-4 & S-1. I was then fused through S-1. My surgeon had to attach to T-10 to complete the fusion. That has been almost 6 years ago now. I am 62, and in the past few months I have been experiencing occasional pain and numbness in my leg, but also in my face, shoulder, and arm like you have described. I would like to know if you have discovered what is causing these symptoms. Mine come and go, but at times I fear I am having stroke symptoms, and am afraid I might ignore symptoms of a real stroke. Seems crazy I know, but my Dad had a stroke at age 59. Would love to hear if you have found out any new infomation/
