I have had loads of mucus in my throat for almost a year now, which is probably also associated with my scratchy right outer ear and ear popping. I also get light headed every time I stand up from laying down for a while. I went to the doctors like a couple months ago and he said that it was just allergies. Would allgeries last this long without stopping??? It started happening around the time I got my new dog but I didn’t get any allergies with my last dog. Can different breeds cause different allergies?? Thanks for all the help I am getting very annoyed and am feeling helpless I am 16 btw if that is relevant.
Hi, guest.
Experiencing mucus in your throat, ear issues, and lightheadedness can indeed be frustrating and concerning. Your doctor's diagnosis of allergies could be accurate, as allergies can indeed last for an extended period, especially if the allergen (such as pet dander) is continuously present in your environment. It's also possible to develop new allergies over time or to be allergic to one breed of dog but not another, as different breeds can have different types of dander.
The symptoms you're describing, particularly the lightheadedness when standing up, could also be related to other conditions. This might include issues with blood pressure, ear infections, or other ear-related problems. Given the duration and persistence of your symptoms, it might be beneficial to seek a second opinion or follow-up with your doctor, especially since new symptoms have developed since your last visit. Discussing the potential link with your new dog and exploring allergy testing or other diagnostic measures could provide more clarity.
At 16, your body is still developing, and it's not uncommon for new allergies or health issues to arise. It's important to get a comprehensive evaluation to ensure proper treatment and management.
