I'm a 14 year old and I have what I think is a boil below my pubic area. I have a fever and have taken a warm bath. I'm afraid to tell my mom. I'm not sexually active so it's not some sexual disease. it really hurts and I have a fear of the doctors sometimes. What should I do?
hi teen in need, can you describe what it actually looks like and where exactly on your pubic area it is as it will help and also do you shave there or have newly growing pubic hair around it?
it's on the area between my vagina and my butt and it's red and sort of soft. it hurts when I sit down I do shave and there is new hair.
it could be an ingrowing hair but most probably it is a boil, have you tried putting a hot compress on it to see if it draws to a head? It could also be a cyst that you have there.
I have not tried a hot compress. is it something I should be worried about or should I just let it go away?

If it is causing you a lot of discomfort and doesn't go in a day or so after hot baths and using hot compresses then I would tell your mum about it and let her take a look and see what she thinks should be done about it.

If your mum can actually see it then she will be able to get a lot better idea what it is compared to just a description and trying to diagnose from that.
It would also be good if you could post on this topic and tell us how you get on with it as it will help others with the same condition.
