I heard horror stories of people who go cold turkey after years of methadone using

Hey guys, just a couple questions. I currently am dosing 110mg at my local Methadone Clinic. I have been dosing for 2 months and only plan to dose for 2 more months, (2 + 2 = 4) so yes, 110mg for a total of 4 months. And at the end of the 4 months I plan to go cold turkey. I hear horrorstory's of people who go cold turkey after years, but are the effects really that bad if I have only been using methadone for a short number of months? 

Please help a curious Florida Girl!!
