Hi, I need help on TMJ. I suffer from immobility and I tried all the treatments, but none of them worked. A doctor thinks that my only chance is a reconstruction. Could it really help me?
Well, it helped me when I suffered from immobility TMJ immobility. I couldn’t move my jaw up or down, and chewing was almost impossible. I agreed with my surgeon that implants would be the best solution. I was under general anesthesia when they implanted metal components in my TMJ. After the surgery, I needed physical therapy and bite splint therapy. I was on a liquid diet, because I couldn’t eat solid food right after the surgery. Sometimes my implants make noises like clicking, and popping, and it can be really embarrassing if someone is around. The best feeling was when it was all over, and when I realized that I didn’t need help on TMJ any more.
