I suffer from atopic eczema and 2000+ allergies. I wear Dermasilk clothing made from silk material and I use Allergenics shampoo and I take Benadryl -Acrivastine these products ease the terrible time I would normally have. I now apply pure coconut butter on my skin as there is a problem to Oats, Wheat oils etc. I am also relocating coastal area of the UK as this environment helps with skin allergies. i can't take the recommended items that consultants prescribe!! Also make sure your bedding is 100% cotton and cream or white colour only..and try self testing with everything you either eat, drink, wear, smell and apply- also difficult people can stress you, making your eczema worse. Remember you are not alone in your plight. God be with you and all skin suffers.%-)

I am thirteen and have had eczema since the second I was born. Nobody in my family before me has eczema now, but my grandmother got rid of hers. She has given me some very helpful tips and various products, but they are not working anymore. I have severe eczema all over my back and hips. I also have it on my hands, my ears, behind my ears, my scalp, my elbows, shoulders, inner elbows. stomach, chest, my jaw line, my eyes, and all down my legs. Although the worst place is my neck. Just last night I could not breathe, and my parents were doing everything they could to help relieve it. It was so bad I was shaking and flipping everywhere on my chair. I have to use three different creams. I have triamcinilone fore my whole body, protopic 0.1%, and a different one for my face. They have been working okay for eczema creams until the last few months. After about thirty minutes of trying everything I started yelling, because I could not feel my neck anymore. It literally felt like I had got a numbing shot. My parents decided to put an aloe vera sunburn and itch relief oil on my neck and within five minutes it was bearable again. I immediately went to my bed, and we are going to make an appointment with my dermatologist soon. I am going to have to take shots for this every week now. One idea is do not use any body wash other than Dove. Make sure it is not the scented kind. Also, check with your dermatologist soon.
Hope this helps!

My doctor gave me a prescription for Hydrocortisone cream, which I was to put on the affected area(s) 3-4 times daily. She also gave me special instructions to follow right before bedtime, as follows: Dampen the affected area with water. Apply hydrocortisone cream, and also a coat of moisturizing CREAM (not lotion) last. If the area is in an area that allows you to do so, cover the area with plastic wrap and keep it wrapped overnight while you're sleeping. The moisturizing cream that she suggested was "Eruicin", but I sometimes have an allergic reaction to mineral oil, which is one of the ingredients it has. I find it also hard to apply to my very dry skin. My pharmacist suggested "Cera Ve" moisturizing cream, which I actually like so much better for the reason that it has a much creamier texture to it, making it so much easier to apply. I was very surprised when I saw the good results I had after keeping my arm wrapped in plastic wrap all night long. I also experimented, and I found that "Press and Seal" plastic wrap really works great, as it helps keep the wrap on and in place even better than the normal wrap does! I hope this information may be of some help for others, as it sure did relieved some severe areas that had become extremely painful and infected from cracking open before I finally had gone to see a doctor. Lots of luck....and relief!

I think you should try to change your diet. and avoid all dairy products and processed foods. I had the same issue and totally changed my lifestyle. I am not completely cured but I do do not scratch and bleed any more and If I don't tell people that I have eczema, they do not know. I have also tried various natural health supplements and avoided perfumed skin products. Going natural in every way is the best way.

I tried everything for my eczema. Steroid creams, lotions, oils. Only thing that helps me is drying it out with soap and water and hydrogen peroxide and apple cider vinegar from the grocery store. It has really helped. Its worth a try.

James, I went to 5 doctors including 2 dermatologist who prescribed creams, oil, lotions and even a pill for a fungal infection in case it was causing my eczema to get worse. Everything was keeping my eczema too moist. So i decided to try just soap, water with some hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball and then I took another cotton ball and saturated it with apple cider vinegar and applied it. It took the itch away reduced the redness almost right away. Just plain apple cider vinegar from the grocery store. I can't believe how much better it feels and looks. All those doctors agreed it was eczema. I hope you will consider giving it a dry. I wonder if too much moisture inhibits the healing process. Any how
Good luck

I agree. Salt water is the best remedy for me. I sometimes sit in a bath tub with epson salt. When I don't have time to sit in the bathtub, I put table salt on a wet cotton ball and apply it to the affected area. I let it dry and then take a shower. After shower I apply eczema cream, 1% Cortizone Eczema cream or Dermarest Eczema cream, The salt water cotton ball treatment is easy. Cost effective and has healed my Eczema. It is almost gone. I tried may creams. Some very expensive. Most of them did not work.
