I recently had Facet Rhizotomy...4 nerves on the right of spine and 4 on the left. I feel that it is going to get me out of lots of pain.....its been about 3 weeks and I feel much better. Has anyone had this back procedure for lower back pains ??

An uncle of mine had FR a few years ago. His doctor said to him that Rhizotomy damages some of the nerves to stop the pain. Because of that, his postoperative period was followed with pain and numbness. Pain was in hips, knees, lower backs and groin, but it was all gone within 4-5 weeks after the surgery.
As for numbness, it affected his jaw muscle and he had to practice chewing a lot, especially on the numb side.
You hadn't wrote anything about your state. Do you have any pains or numbness?
I just had a facet rhizotomy on my lumbar today and I have had them three times before. The first two worked very well and the last one didn't last very long. I sure hope this one last at least six month to alleviate some pain.
