ok. so i think my last period was from 6-11-09 - 6-18-09, my boyfriend and i had sex the 18th, 21st, and 22nd. we use a condom with spermicide but it slipped and we were worried so i took a plan B pill about 3 or 4 hours after 'the sex' then on the 25th or 26th i had really unusual bleeding, lighter than my normal periods and it only lasted for three days, whereas my normal preiods last for 7-8 days. i have never had any type of breakthrough bleeding, and im not on any birthcontroll or hormaonal medications. im also extremely regular. the most my period has ever been off is a day early or a day late, never more. and now 3 days late, and i dont feel as though im going to get it, my breast are extremely sore, and im really tired all the time, yet i wake up at about 6:30am (2 hours earlier than usual) ive been getting headaches often and get hungry for very specific foods. i feel as though i may have a yeast infection, and have heard that when your pregnant you sometimes get those. i have taken 4 HPT Test (3 before my missed period and 1 yesterday) and all have come back negative, 3 first response, and 1 clearBlue
does anyone have any insight on my problem, has anyone gone through this. i dont want to go to the doctor unless i dont get my period in the next 2 weeks, so untill then could someone please help me. is it even possible for me to be pregnant, with the spermicide on the condom, the low chance that any even slipped out and the plan B pill. any help would me extremely appreciated.
Thank you so much
its possible you are but plan b pills keep the fertilized egg from implanting so if the egg was already secure when you took it then it wouldnt have helped. and the spermicide should have got any that slipped out but again its possible some made it through. i suggest just waiting and NOT stressing about it. i know it sounds really stupid but i've been in your position before and stressing just makes it worse. that may be why you are late in the first place. if you have been stressing about the condom and the plan b pill then your body may be reacting to that. the bleeding you talked about is the most telling sign of pregnancy, if thats indeed what is wrong. i think plan b is 2 pills right? one right after and then one like 2 days later or something? did you take both? if not that maybe the cause. and also i just thought of it but maybe taking plan b was why you bled? i dont know much about plan b. maybe someone elsse can help you more but i hope i helped some

Dear Moosie: I would hazzard a guess that even though there is a VERY VERY SLIGHT chance that you could be pregnant, I really do not think so. Plan B is TOTALLY effective when taken within 72 hours of an accident! It TOTALLY stops the egg from being fertilized by the sperm. Even though condoms with spermicide are bascially the same protection as ones without that doesn't matter very much. It is VERY rare to get pregnant from an accident such as the condom coming off - the good thing is because they were covered in spermacide then it would have lined your vagina. And the bleeding you had sometimes happens from taking the Plan B! Because the egg isn't fertilized it goes on its merry way and can cause slight bleeding. So now your period will just be off a little - because as far as the brain is concerned you have already had one!! It's just waiting for the memo from the ovaries to tell it you didn't. So as Sixlilpenquins said - excellent advice by the way! - you stressing about being pregnant can acutally make you feel pregnant!!!

There is actually a condition called "hysterical pregnancy" it can happen to women who are REALLY stressed about being pregnant or women who REALLY want to be pregnant. AND it can happen to male partners!!!!! They start getting the symptoms of the womans pregnancy!!! o.O It is amazing and a little frightening what stress can do to the body! So like six said just relax, you WILL be fine hon! And let us know when you get your period OK? Good luck and health!

not with plan b. i dont want to offend anyone but i wouldnt ever take plan b im one of those alive from conception people, but i unlike, some crazy fanatics will not try to shove that down your throat. everyone is entitled to there own opinions and choices.

but in high school there was this teacher who taught parenting and other classes like that and i needed some classes to fill my schedule so i had her like 5 times in one year and every semester she had a woman from planned parenthood come in and tell us about birth control and stds lol my family likes to say im an expert now but i really dont think so. i know a little bit about most kinds though.

I felt like you happened to know a lot and were very helpful so if you ever do want to contribute on threads like this again, I think it'd be a pretty good idea! I feel like I learned some good stuff from you and I thought I knew this stuff inside and out. Hopefully we'll see you around more. :)

Yes, I may actually! Talked to a pharmisict today because the same thing happened to me. And Plan B works by tricking your body to think that your pregnant so that you won't get pregnant. Then with those hormones from Plan B in your system you start to see symptoms that are the same in the early signs of pregnancy! Your not pregnant, because the plan b worked and thats why you got a couple negative pregnancy test. But the plan b put hormones in your system and you feel pregnant but are not pregnant! Any questions?
