I'm a 16 year-old boy. I'm 171 cm in height and about 105 pounds in weight. I'm a skinny boy and i wanna have a better look. So i plan to go the gym to do weight-lifting for 3 days a week. [Monday, Wednesday and Friday] and go swimming on 3 other days [Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday] to make sure that i can get taller. People say that swimming would take a large amount of calories so does it mean that i can't get fatter if i go swimming 3 days a week? So, what if i do weight lifting and go swimming like that schedule? Will i get any result? What food is best for building muscle? Thanks a lot.

hey there son sorry it took a little while to get back to you but i was a little busey the past couple days.
when you say fatter i think you mean bulkier with more muscle and not actually fat. am i correct? if Thats the case your weight lifting and swiming will both help build muscles. swiming does burn a lot of calories but calories are strictly energy units usually your body get them from stored fat and your sugar in your blood which you get from eating starches/carbohdrates such as grain, potatoes, bread, exc. fruit is a good natural soruce of simple sugars which can be used quickly by your body.
the best food for building muscles is protien such as meat, eggs, peanut butter ect. some people also drink protien shakes after they exeercise such as whey protien (muscle milk) or creatine. I would be carefull with ceratien because i have heard of some people getting angry and mood while on it.
also do go too overboard with thoes drinks because too much protien can harm your kidneys.
the BIG thing to stay away from is anabolic stearoids such as testosterone and aldosterone they cause all sorts of problems such as acne, violent mood swings, depression and shrinking of your testicles o.O i would say to just get on a good exercise routien and make sure to eat plenty of fruits veggtables and protien.
another couple things which may have an effect on the build of your body are ethnicity/race and puberty. so have you started puberty yet? if so how long ago/ where are you at in puberty now? and also what race are you/where are you from. as peoples body types differe depending on what part of the world they are from. 8)
