I have one friend and I think he’s got some problem. Every few months he use Ibuprofen, and I think that is too often. I don’t know what this medicine is used for, but I can’t see he is sick or he has some disease. I don’t know if his doctor prescribe that or he takes it on his own. I would like to know more about Ibuprofen, to understand him and maybe help him.
Indications for using Ibuprofen are all conditions with cold, headache, toothache, etc. It is very good medication for temporarily relieving pain of those conditions. Also, it helps with muscular aches, backaches, minor pain of arthritis, menstrual cramps, and temporarily reduces fever too. Your friend should only take care to take only dose that is prescribed and do not take more than directed. Every 4 to 6 hours he should take 1 tablet, caplet, gelcap or liquigel capsule while symptoms occur. If pain or fever does not respond to one tablet, 2 tablets may be used, but he shouldn’t exceed 6 tablets of Ibuprofen in 24 hours, unless his doctor directed that. Ibuprofen might cause s severe allergic reaction which may include hives, facial swelling, asthma, and shock. Ibuprofen can also cause stomach bleeding, and if he uses alcohol, 3 or more alcoholic drinks every day, he should ask his doctor whether he should take Ibuprofen or other pain reliever at all. It’s not necessarily to ask a doctor or pharmacist before starting with use. There are only few conditions that require this, such as using of some other medication, or some medical condition treated of some doctor’s side. He should stop use it if fever gets worse or lasts more than 3 days, pain last more than 10 days, stomach pain occurs, or painful area is red or swollen.
There was a mention of swelling with the use of Ibuprofen. Can it also cause ankles and feet to swell. I took this for knee pain and my feet and ankles at the end of the day were so swollen. I have an allergy to sulfa does ibuprofen have sulfa in it. bev : 8-|
