If you had the chance to own a small business or shop what would it be?
I'd have to go with owning a bike shop. Cyclists are so easy to separate from their money.

Book store or video store. Probably a book store. I'm not saying i'd make money, but i think it would be cool to own one.

Either a small brewery or some sort of wood working shop. Nothing with a computer, that is for sure!
Wait....isn't that Barnes and Nobles? I like the lounge idea. I'd like people just hanging around my store reading. Hopefully they'd buy books, too.
Bookstore in a beach town
I'd like to operate my own charter boat on Lake Erie. Chartering walleye, perch and smallmouth bass fishing trips sounds like a good way to make a living to me. Unfortunately, the majority of captains on the lake do well to break even. Mother nature's penchant for rough water on the lake and the high price of fuel make it a rough way to survive.

I've worked at a resort and hotel before and know I'd enjoy operating my own northwoods lakeside lodge. People on vacation are typically in great moods, ready to spend money and just lookin' to have fun.
Definitely a bookstore/coffee shop, on a smaller scale than B&N or Borders, with a more local Greenwich villagey-type feel to it. Maybe open mike nights for local performers on the weekends, art exhibits that would support our local county artists, whereever I was living (not here where I am now though--ick) stuff like that. A lounge area would be a must.....
