Love and hate finding this page. Love because I'm not alone. Hate because I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I'm 43 and have been dealing with this as long as I can remember. I have been tested twice and both times came back negative. I call BS because I can take a blind test of hotdog vs all beef Frank's with one bite.
I get the same as many described. Tingling on my lips and mouth. The hot, thick saliva. Hard to breathe with a feeling of needing to burp or throw up. Length of time depends on amount ingested. Anywhere from 10-30 minutes.
I tested my allergies a few times throughout the years. Same thing every time. The last time was last year. I recently moved to South Korea. There was a festival that had street foods. My wife isn't very adventurous with food. When I saw chicken heart skewers my kids wanted to try it and my wife didn't. I thought maybe organ meat wold be different. So I tried it to convince my wife to try it (she didnt). I was fine for hours until I went to bed. I woke up with the the usual reaction that lasted about 30 minutes. I was able to get back to sleep for another 2 hours before work. I woke up and as I drove to work I took a turn into the ER with my symptoms coming back so hard I thought I was having a heart attack. Hooked me to EKG. Everything normal (with my heart anyways).
