Hi... I came across this and not sure if anyone will even see but I may have a couple suggestions. Im sure it's things you're already aware of but you never know and I always can use some help. My son is 14 born with High IA and I too worry about his future and whether or not he will be able to have a normal sex life or have children if he decides to. Of course he suffers with chronic constipation like all of you. Cincinnati X 2 plus several hospitalizations. I will spare you all the details because you all know too well im sure but we are now using the Coloplast Anal Irrigation System with saline & glycerin. Its takes a little while to get use to and my son can use himself. He also takes doculax on the weekend or when he needs a good flush out. It took me a while to get his dosage right but he takes 4. The doculax will cramp but what it does is turn all the stool to liquid so it is a really good clean out. Just take before bed and dont plan on going anywhere the next day unfortunately. Of course ask your doctor first but ive tried absolutely everything and im telling you it works you just have to get the dosage right. Now last I spoke with my sons gastro dr and he told me that when the time comes to find out if my son can't ejaculate sperm that there was a procedure to try to fix problem and if that didn't work there were a couple options for him so please don't give up guys maybe just get a second opinion. Email me anytime. ...

Desiree, I have dated both men and women, and you tell your son, that 9 times out of 10.... WOMEN are more acceptable of anything that is different or not the "norm". Besides that .... Women usually are more in tune with variations and diversity, or at least Express that knowledge and acceptance more readily than men do. Your son will be OKAY!!! He will find someone WORTHY of HIS INDIVIDUALITY, and if they aren't, than, ... Well they don't deserve him anyway. ((( You already know this and have already told him...))). Just for confirmation. We all go thru these feelings having Anorectal/Urological Malformations. Even I still struggle with them, but I DO KNOW that ANYONE, MAN or WOMAN that is NOT ACCEPTING OF THEM, can just F*OFF!
Once he gets out of they Crappiest part of life for IA kids, i.e.: School, he will be okay. Keep doing what you do, and accept and love your child for whomever he/she is. That is all you can do. Blessings. Peace. Amor!

Alright I'm so glad I found some people like me. So I'm 13 female and I've had the same medical problem. I'm the kind of person who thinks ahead and over thinks. I'm just really scared that in the future I can't have sexual intercourse because I'm might tear something. Or my stitching might rip. See when I was born my anus was too close to my vagina so the doctor had to close the anus I had (the anus was also too small for poop to come out of) and surgically make a new one. Obviously now my anus muscle are stronger and everything's healed and I can poop somewhat normally but I just don't want anything to tear during sexual intercourse. Also does anyone else have the problem where if you eat to much fibre or eat too much dairy you get constipated? Someone please get back to me with a response or answers. Thanks
