I get an intense headache (lower left back side of head) when exercising and have to stop.  intensity stops but headache lingers for a few hours.  Any idea why this is happening?

That sounds like what doctors sometimes call an exertional headache. It can happen when exercise suddenly raises blood pressure and blood flow in the head. Since yours is one-sided and lingers for hours, it’s definitely worth getting checked. Causes can range from muscle tension and posture issues to things like vascular problems or even nerve irritation. Best to avoid pushing through the pain and see a doctor to rule out anything serious. In the meantime, staying hydrated, warming up properly, and avoiding sudden, intense exertion may help.
