Hello, folks. My friend has been suffering from asthma for years. She has recently experienced aspirin sensitivity. I wonder if sensitivity to this drug is common in people with this disease. I would appreciate if anyone could tell me something more about this. Thanks in advance for all your help, guys.
Hello to you too. Aspirin sensitivity is more common for people with asthma than in healthy population. It is believed that the percentage of this sensitivity among healthy population is about 1%. This percentage is much higher in asthma population – 20%. If you include the population with sinus diseases and polyps to this with asthma, then percentage is higher – 30%. One of the symptoms of reaction to aspirin can be heavy breathing and even asthmatic episode. Imagine how this can be dangerous for a person with asthma. I hope your friend is all right now. I hope this helps. Bye!
