LiNeRnOtEs... I think you should do some research before you post things like that. Yes PILLS have killed MANY people over the years, whether it's from allergic reations, Dr.'s prescibing too high of a dose, and yes - people abusing the drug, etc. It sounds like you are pretty angry because your doctor WON'T prescribe Soma anymore. Your doctor CAN, but either chooses not to, or got in trouble for prescribing too many narcotics. Maybe you should find another doctor. Addiction is a disease - people don't wake up one day & say "hey I want to take all of these pills & get high!" & lose their home, family, & tragically sometimes their lives, etc. So to those "assholes" you are "thanking", I truly believe you should apologize...
I agree, and now I can't do my chores, in pain, worst is mornings, all because I can't have Soma anymore. In fact there's a law in Florida, suppose to be for criminals, and pill mills, and now Seniors are dragged into this and people are suffering. What happened to "helping patients?"
All you wrote I go thru the same thing, and being a Senior, I shouldn't have to go thru pain in this day in age. I wish there was some way to get legitimate patients all together in Florida, who are in severe pain, to try to do something about this. Doctors, Pharmacists, all afraid of distributing Soma.
I have no doubts that thousands and thousands of Floridians who get together and complain to our Governor that this is not the way to live, maybe get a lawyer, class suit action. It made front page news, people ARE suffering. I tried various muscle relaxers only to have blurred vision. I'm on Generic of Robaxin for about 6 months at least and now I can't do anything, the medication doesn't help to the point where I can shop, do my hobby, do errands, etc. etc.
My Thoracic and Lumbar is riddled with arthritis. L-1 to L-4 , MRI said "bones growing into the nerves" And what does doctor say? "find another doctor who is not afraid to loose their license" Ridiculous!!!!!
It's just not right to let people with severe conditions to suffer. I don't know what else to say.
Robaxin helped me a lot with my back and muscle spasms.
have any of you tried Flexeril?
I'M SO SORRY FOR YOU MY GOD PLS HEAL HER BODY IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
im sorry, they can be addictive especially if they help the pain..
That is exactly right sweetheart, Im not living in chronic pain, but it could be better.. Dont let the Dr's tell you the DEA is gonna take their license, my neighbor went to the hospital this morning (He has major RA in his back) so he has to go to the point that he cant walk and then they give him a shot of Prednisone and a Narcotic) So i told my Dr today that sometimes I take my lortab because im afraid of the pain and he told me that was exactly right, to nip it in the bud (I thank God for him everyday) The valley I live in is known as a party town so if your in pain you are SOL I ahve to drive 55-60 miles to get good care, My point being, it is a geographical problem you are absoloutley right on that. Sometimes uf someone finds a doctor That actually will have the Brains to know you have to nip pain in the bud before it becomes so out of control you cant function and you have to take a zillion things or one huge shot to fix it for a couple of days... My heart goes out to you I work in the medical field I will see if I can find someone in your area that is Good no guarantees but i can look...
hi everyone i just been to the doctors i have fibromyalgia and spine pain and i have spondylitis in the back and neck my usual codeine phosphate and paracetimol wont relive the bad acute tension headeaches i get every darn day and get woken up by them can you please tell me if its safe to take robaxin as my gp prescribed them is morning i am a bit scared of taking new pilss especially those with side effects so can any one reasure me i will be okay many thanks xxx
pills never killed anyone? Are you ignorant? Of course they kill people even those that take it properly... read side effects to them. My grandfather was killed by pills. That is a fact. He was a vet and they gave him the worse medical treatment he could have. They basically killed him by they're ignorance of long term medicating. Sorry your post is wrong.
I agree on the addiction part and overdosing can kill people however studies have proven that the wrong medication can kill even if taken properly ie prescription weight loss pills which is why most doctors refuse to prescribe them. It is true that those who have abused prescription meds that relieve pain and muscle spasms have ruined it for the rest of us I truly hope that we all learn about our conditions thoroughly and tall alternatives methods of pain relief besides opiates. I currently take Oxycodone and recently methocarbamol but am going to have to switch back to a stronger muscle relaxer until I can retrain my muscles into stronger muscles through Yoga to help ease the pain as falling asleep during the day is not my idea of a good time. Like a few others on here I have degenerative disk disease, arthritis in my left knee and in my back. I see my md for pain management as well as a whole health chiropractor to deal with the muscle spasms, he does not crack my back. Then do an hour of yoga a day. Depending on opiates is dangerous in and of itself but you can die just by taking the wrong medication and to blame it just on overdose is grossly misinforming others of the true dangers.
Going on my own experience with Robaxin, it may increase your headaches. Now everyone is different and their bodies react differently to different medications but you may want to look into flexeril for those tension headaches as when I had them I would take one before bed and wake up headache free. Much has changed since then and even at 40 I am dealing with degenerative disk disease and arthrits in my knee and back so I take stronger meds but Robaxin for me seems to be the cause of the headaches I am dealing with at the present. Flexeril is usually the kind of muscle relaxer most doctors don't mind prescribing for tension headaches so if Robaxin doesn't effect you positively try that.
I agree 100%. I have been on soma for about 18 yrs. and very strong pan meds! It took alot of yrs to fnd the combination that worked, I have changed my pain meds alot over the yrs but still stayed on my soma. When I run out of soma I can really feel the difference, but I agree if I could get rid of the pain ,I would be in rehab tomorrow!
How long have (or did you) take it?
