You seem happy to blame and "diagnose" everyone you see in your pain clinic, based on instantaneous glances and nothing else. Is stroking your own ego at the expense of others really that important to you?

After a broken back, and severe damage to hip, pelvis and leg with muscle torn off the bone...I had to take something, being allergic to opiates, my only options are soma & tramadal, I have taken these for 13 years. I keep myself on a strict schedule of 1 month on, and 1 week off to fight addiction, so far so good. The week off is not pleasant, especially in the winter, but it needs to be done. Soma gives me relief without all the side effects of other medications my doctors are always trying to push on me.

Yes - flexeril not only did not relieve pain - it kept me in a suspended semi-conscious state, where I could still perceive all of the pain, but couldn't actually get to sleep. Soma works nicely. I keep hearing people have addictions, and perhaps they do. But my experience is different. I was prescribed 3x per day - I usually only used 1 - sometimes 2, and had plenty left at the end of the prescription time - but when I needed it, it was the ONLY thing that would work. Now, I'm being punished for the drug that works, never needed more...yes, it has a nice mellow feeling, but that's kind of, what one might expect...IMHO...when one has been all tensed up with muscle knots that are as hard as a rock, then they release, N'est-ce Pas. Shame on me for feeling something less than agonized. But I digress. To answer your question - Yes - I've tried Flexeril. If Soma came complete with some new form of it, that, since it's such an old drug, could be classified as a brand NEW, and therefore, Patentable, VERY EXPENSIVE drug, I promise you - the FDA would be ALL OVER IT.

I understand exactly what you mean. I would like to also say thank you assholes for allowing your drugs to control you instead of you controlling your drugs. I recently hurt my back it is temporary I went to urgent care it is their policy to not prescribe pain medications. I was in so much pain I thought the doctor would make an exception to the rule. I am not an addict or pill seeker. Well, guess what I am still on major pain. What does a person do? They suffer because of the few assholes who seek the high. Or as many do they turn to an illegal market putting themselves in a very bad space and place.

Pills do kill people, all the time! Your addicted yourself your not just looking for relief anymore you've been buzzing for years on the soma and painkillers! You need to dry out Honey. Soma has a high priority level for accidental overdose by itself. Check your statistics before you state facts. To the person who lost their Mother, I am so sorry. And I'm also sorry for the insensitivity shown by this person. I hope it was just the drugs talking. praying for all

I hear you. I have a chronic pain disorder but it pales in comparison to yours. There are lots of online support groups. Sometimes it helps to talk to people who have similar problems ❤️

Well said!! I suffer from scoliosis and my back flares up a few times each year- even with massage, chiropractic care, Vicodin and Motrin it doesn't help. I use soma and for hours outta the day I am relaxed and not in pain...Then I am good for several more months. Roboxin gives me terrible leg twitches and restless leg syndrome. My doctor recently retired and I cannot get Soma anymore due to all the pill poppers out there. It sucks because it really helps some people

I feel your pain.. I have 2 fusions rods, and three spinal cord disease including arachnoiditis. I've been on Soma for 6 years and have tried all until that one helped alot. I can actually stand upright for it relaxes the spasms in my back. At my last appointment my Dr informed me that he was going to take me off of the soma. He wrote me robaxin even though I've tried it before but thought I would try again. No change. Stiff as a board and hurts to walk. I refuse to keep having meds cut out of my pain management for soon I'll be in a wheelchair and my quality of life will be no more. It's not like I abuse my meds, I only take one soma a day, at bedtime and if I have a really bad day I'll half it and take the other half at bedtime. But I agree with you, PPL who abuse these medications makes the world miserable for those who live in constant pain.

Soma isnt addictive by any means unless you are taking them by the handfulls.. soma works better but robaxin will help muscle spasms and cramps..

I concur with you! After taking Soma for four years for my back pain/spasms, the new pain specialist takes me off and puts me on Roboxyn. I have CRPS and that pain on top of spasms keeps me down:-(

I know this is old, but I get prescribed oxycodone, OxyContin, and somas.

I obviously deal with severe pain.

My tolerance is so high, I know Lortab isn't as strong as what I'm on, but I'm wondering if switching meds for even a month would help lower my tolerance--also wondering what would be my route of questioning this.

What med do you think would be similar to what I'm on? Can my doctor even do this?

My pain is out of this world.

I'd love a drug holiday, but I wouldn't be able to function due to the debilitating pain I experience.

Thanks.

Losing hope.
